Anne, John and Michelle can we just say how lucky we were to have your Dad in our lives. He was the kindest, funniest, most gentle and calming person, always willing and wanting to brighten people’s days. He loved the choir and his golf (in latter times particularly the lunch and chats) and he loved working with the Juniors. He spoke often, with such great pride, about his grandchildren and it was clear to see the love he felt for each and everyone of them. He was a great friend, a great neighbour and, in the way we viewed him, a family member who will be sorely missed, but I’m sure Martin will be so happy to be reunited with his wife Mary

Sending all my sympathies to you Anne, Michelle and John on the passing of your much-loved Dad. He was the loveliest messer I have ever known. So many lovely childhood memories of the Barrys and Martin and Mary, always hand in hand, he always keeping a watchful eye on her and her throwing her eyes up to the sky at his mischief and entertainment: 'don't be encouraging him Ciara!, she'd say. He was a dote, and kind and caring in bucketloads too and so so proud of all his family. A really wonderful friend to Dad and a great support over the last few years with Mum. Dad will miss the chats, and I will miss the hugs. I hope you will feel him close to you all as the days go on and Martin, I hope you are singing and dancing with Mary now. Sleep well x
