Great memories of Martin from the Provincial Bank days and later. He always was full of good humour, positivity and energy; a people-person to his fingertips and a talented linguist. Sincere condolences to Bridget and family. May he rest in peace.

Only heard yesterday that Martin had passed away. We are both shocked and saddened at this news. We have so many happy memories of time spent in the great company of Martin and Bridget in France. Walks, meals and wine shared, and even the occasional song!! A lovely man, he will be missed. Sincere condolences to Bridget and all the family.

My condolences to Martins wife Bridget, to Dara and Nessa and to all Martins brothers and sisters who I remember with great warmth and affection having spent so much of my childhood years in No. 17. I grew up in no. 38 but over 40 years ago moved back to Dollymount Avenue to the former Halls home next door to Frank and Kit who were the most wonderful neighbours to call on for parental advice given their considerable experience. My neighbour Johnny gives me bunches of the Brownen grapes every year which always brings me back memories of my days with Martin, Leo, my close pal Paul who is much missed, to Peter and Frank and their lovely sisters. I am so sorry to have missed the funeral. My brothers Tony, Gerry and Tom have asked me to include them in the Loomes sympathies to all of the Brownens.

Dear Bridie, Dara, Nessa & Families. My deepest sympathy. Some of my most cherished memories of Martin are the vibrance of his story telling illuminating Nannies kitchen. Thinking of you all during this time. Best wishes xX

My deepest sympathy to Martin' Family. WE soldiered in various Central and Eastern European Countries in the 90s and Noughties. Martin was great company and we spent many very enjoyable dinners together, regardless of the quality of the food.

Sorry that we were unable to join you in person on Friday but we did follow Martin's final farewell on the livestream from the Church and Crematorium - you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Martin was a super colleague and friend starting in College Street a long time ago and finally in Prague in the twilight of our banking journey. We also had a UK connection where 3 of our children were pupils in Holy Cross Convent school in Bucks following in Nessa's earlier footsteps.
