Sincere sympathy to Martin's family. I worked in Lucena services with Martin over almost two decades. He was always such a gentleman. He was a caring mentor and advocate for nursing and social care staff, and contributed significantly to the development of the strong and dynamic nursing department we have in Lucena today. Martin was a gentle boy during his school days in Ardee when we knew him. At his funeral Mass it was not surprising to learn that he was always a gentleman. Our condolences to Geraldine and his wife and extended family.

Condolences to Jacqueline and family and to Geraldine on the loss of Martin. I have many good memories of growing up in an Irish Street full of kids playing from morning to night on the street and up the grove. My neighbour Martin( along with his dog Rex) was a key part of those days . He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

I recieterate the many fond memories student nurses experienced with Martin as their mentor in SJOG Stillorgan. I was also one of the lucky ones.

Sincere condolences to Jaqueline and Áine and Neill. I had the great privilege of firstly working with Martin years ago as a junior doctor in Lucena Dun Laoghaire. He was always so helpful, kind and had such a fantastic way with families. If Martin was in the room it was very hard for anyone to stay angry - he seemed to just have a way of calming people? And he was so obviously mad about his job and always talked so positively about his adored family, friends, holidays and dogs. More recently when I came back to work in lucena I was once again lucky to have worked with Martin on the management team. He was still so enthusiastic about his work and the nursing department in lucena even though he was clearly not in great health. So many people have such lovely memories of him and we’re so sad to hear this news. Thinking of you at this time. He is greatly missed by his colleagues and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam

We have lovely memories of Martin growing up in Ardee and of his late parents Joe and Nellie whose home we visited regularly when I worked in the insurance business in the 1960s. A lovely hospitable family who were so kind to us in our early married life. May he rest in peace.

Also thinking of his sister Geraldine , and the Lynch family Stabannon .We walked by his house every day to school and back . Really nice that his former neighbour was able to concelebrate the funeral mass for him.
