Martin Dolan

Very saddened to hear recently of the sudden passing of Martin. Deepest sympathy to Mrs Dolan, Mary, Mike and all the family. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad and difficult time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

“ A wandering minstrel I “ The Mikado. I can remember his performance on stage in our annual production like it was only yesterday. We had more in common than we realised all those years ago. A couple of chance meetings over the last 40 years since school days, we had the opportunity to reminisce and recall those early teenage years. I was saddened to read of his death. No doubt he will be looking out for us all in heaven as he did for many while on earth.

To his distraught family , Martin was a very special ,interested ,kind and gentle person. He was a wonderful listener and made the person he spoke to, feel important and valued . He had a sense of humour like no other ,a really sweet man who gave so much to his community and charities. He was an Angel on earth . There is no consolation to losing someone who mattered so much to so many. May his gentle soul rest in Peace.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Martin's mother Mary and his extended family on the your loss. In April 2014 we met Martin and his mother while travelling to Rome. We were the only people in the group who did not have Ballinasloe connections. However, we were made to feel very welcome and have kept in contact with a number of people since then. Martin was one of the youngest people in that group of people and we were more than saddened to hear of his death. He appeared to be such a kind person and was a lovely travel companion for his mother.
