Martin Flaherty

The Martin I was lucky to get to know was wonderful company. Warm and good humoured with lots of funny observations and cheer. He will long be remembered for his commitment to the Portmarnock Tidy Towns group and not just for the monthly tidying but the frequent jobs he took on himself to water his much loved plants. A PCA committee member for many years his opinions were warmly and enjoyably listened too. A treasure of a neighbour and friend and much missed.

Martin was a great colleague in our Howth Pathways group. He was a pleasure to be with and always good company. He will be sadly missed by us, may be rest in peace. We offer our deepest condolences to Martin's family.

To the whole Flaherty family. I was shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Martin. I worked with Martin for many years and was Suzanne's boss when both of them worked for TEIS on the long mile road. We had some wonderful times there. May Martin rest peacefully in heaven now.

I had the pleasure and good fortune to meet Martin at the school gate a few days before he passed. Luke had told me so much about Martin that I just had to meet him. Martin an absolute gentleman who I first met back in the 80s when were were both in Eircom and afterwards we met regularly in Portmarnock and sometimes a coffee in Butlers, Pavillions for a chat which was always great. A great family man so proud of Margaret and his family and also a great community man through his involvement with St Rosalies and the Tidy Towns. Rest easy Martin.
