Sincerest condolence to all Martin's family. A very great man who had the most wonderful and talented wife and two great kids. First met him in Lisdoonvarna in 1970 where he received his training for Achill ! He was the finest of company and the gentlest of human beings. I will always remember the Limerick man only with a smile but with the deepest respect and affection.

Dear Karen and Colin,
I was so saddened to hear about the loss of your lovely dad. Martin was such a part of our childhood when he would often call to visit Mum + Dad (Kay + Pat Walsh, Hillside Park). His big smile, infectious laugh and happy demeanour would light up any room. One of my earliest memories is of your Dad bringing Sinead and myself off for a trip, we were very young, in his red sports car and winning us some goldfish at a garden fete. Remembering too your dear Mum, Maeve, who was a lovely lady. Martin was truly one in a million, one of Munster's finest. May he sleep peacefully, RIP Martin.

Thoughts are with Karen and the family.
I was a barman in the Horse for about 4 years and got to know Martin well. Was always my favourite person to see when I was working, always giving a laugh and a good chat.
Martin always told me stories about his annual trip to Achill and the craic they had down there. I had never been so after talking to Martin about it I always wanted to go.
By coincidence (or fate!) I went down to Achill last week for the very first time, thinking about Martin's stories when I was there, only to hear of Martin's passing when I was there.
Will never forget Martin's laugh and how kind he always was, and will always think of him when I think of Achill, the Horse (or Smithwicks!!).
Rest in Peace to an absolute legend - Martin's constantly positive presence will be missed.
