Martin Hughes

I am so sorry to hear of Martin's passing. He was a great friend of my fathers. I remember him calling to the farm when I was a young fella and enjoyed hearing him tell stories to my father Vincent. Sympathies to the all the family. May he rest in peace.

To Martins wife Mary and his sister Mary and all Martin's children and extended family we offer our sincere condolences on the demise of one of my best ever friends. I recall to my grandchildren the hospitality I experienced in the Hughes home place, sitting around the big table at lunch time with the family being fed by sister Mary on Martin's and Sheila's command whenever Patricia was away. Unbelieveable crack and chat. We lowered many pints together when the farmwork was done. Martin came with me for his first to Croke Park and we stayed with my late parents in Sallins, Co. Kildare where, over a pint or two, he discovered the art of silage making which he put into effect very successfully on returning home. I could write a very enjoyable book about Martin's family and the good times we had together. I know both Marys and his family will miss him and, with respect, we join you in your sadness. May Martin Rest in Peace
