I first encountered him as a youngster playing the Western Circuit of underage Tennis tournaments. Subsequently, we knew each other very well during our undergraduate years at UCG sharing a common interest in sport. Later, I looked forward to our. meeting in Lansdowne Road at Internationals. He was a wonderful character and a thorough gentleman and I recall our interactions with much fondness.

Martin was a former coach and mentor of DRFC.
Martin was a former Munster and Leinster player in his day and coached Dungarvan in the 80's. He was an integral part of the club.
