Martin (Jessie) Timothy O'Driscoll

Martin loved life and enjoyed every minute of it. He loved his family and friends in Mallow. At a very young age he became a lifeguard and saved many lives out the bullworks. He was a generous giver of his time and a great swimming instructor. He later became a deep sea diver in the 1970s in Jersey and we dived all the bays in Jersey and most of the Irish coastline. He enjoyed his sport, he loved his salmon fishing with Patsy Willis and we spent many a day hunting and shooting with the dogs. His greatest delight was what he called 'the ponies' . He went to every racecourse in Ireland and England and loved 'a flutter'. He had a bookies licence in Jersey. Martin loved a singsong in pubs, especially his rebel songs and always got the crowd going. He loved his motorbikes with his brother Tadhg and their favourite song was 'leader of the gang'. Martin married his childhood crush and sweetheart Mary Allen, and was blessed with his beautiful daughter Tara and overcome with joy on the arrival of his lovely grandson Aidan. When he said goodbye he was reunited with his beloved Maud, Dan and Tadhg. Martin brought happiness, joy, fun and excitement into all our lives. He was my greatest friend and soulmate. When we think of Martin he is smiling, we will love and remember him forever
