What a character, I’ll never forget his great big smile every time you met him and he was full of craic and stories. We all had a great time growing up in Marian pk and great laughs playing in the front and back fields! RIP to a wonderful man, he will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Martin was our brother in law for a short while but a member of the family forever. It is hard to believe that he has gone. He lived his (too short) life to the full, thank heavens, with plenty of music and laughter. Our condolences to all his family.

I am Martin's ex-wife and although we only had a relatively short marriage, we remained friends until I left the UK in 2009 and we lost touch. His premature passing was a huge shock to me and my family. Martin was a lovely, caring, and kind soul. He always saw the best in people, and lived for his music, family and friends. He would do anything for anyone. I send my sincere condolences to his family, especially his boys who he adored, and his brothers and sisters. I will think of you all on the 1st and will say a prayer. Rest in peace dear Martin, you were genuinely one in a million, and will forever have a place in my heart.

Deepest sympathy on the death of Martin. We served together in the medical platoon of 57th Battn. in Lebanon, 1985. He was a diligent medic and a great friend,with that sparky Dundalk sense of humour too, which helped to keep us all going in difficult times. He will be sadly missed.
