Our sincere condolences to Martin's family. We enjoyed many a visit from Martin in Askamore over the years and we had the pleasure of spending Christmas day with him a couple of times. He had some wonderful stories from all his travels over the years. He always spoke with great affection for his family. We will miss him dearly.

My sincere and deepest condolences on the sad passing of Martin.
Martin was my god father. He always remembered my birthday and when I was younger would call over every year with his mum, always full of chat and good humour.
We reconnected several years ago, which was really lovely. I suffer from a similar type illness to Martin, so it was lovely to have someone who understood it and my limitations. We corresponded via email and it was always a treat. Martin's emails were full of news, positivity, and always plenty of fun emojis.
I was sadly too ill to attend Martin's funeral in person, but luckily was able to follow it online.
Again, my deepest condolences on the sad passing and loss of Martin. He was a lovely man. I'll really miss him and our emails chats.

Martin and I were colleagues in the United Nations. We met only once after that but kept a vigorous correspondence until last December. He was a remarkable man and a true friend.

All my sincere condolences to you all on the sad loss of Martin. I can’t believe it. Louise just mentioned it to me now and I thought she was talking about Gordon. I loved Martin from when he was a kid and we played children’s games in the gardens in Artane. He missed Gordon and I know he had health issues but all the same I am deeply shocked as I am sure you all are. Martin was kind and thoughtful sensitive and the older brother a big loss to you all. I remember him fondly and he loved my brother Vinney . They are together now. All my love to you all . Mind yourselves and take care of one another.

We are deeply sorry to hear this sad news about our good friend and dear colleague, Martin, who passed away unexpectedly.
Martin without fail sent us Christmas Greetings with pictures of his family and updated us on how he was doing during the year with touches of humour.
It was unusual not to hear from him and many of us sent him greetings for Christmas and New Year without a reply. Our Boss took the initiative to search for his name on the internet and found that our beloved friend and colleague went to join another world peacefully in his home.
Martin was a very kind and gentle person. We, at work and during our travelling together, always enjoyed talking, laughing, and being with him.
We will miss his occasional and annual emails from him but his kindness, cheerfulness and smile on his face will never be forgotten and will always stay in our hearts.
May God Almighty accept him to rest in peace in Paradise.

Very sorry to hear of Martin's death he was a good friend to me in school may he rest in peace

I just heard of the sad passing of Martin this afternoon... I was in Blackrock College with him and to this day I still remember his hearty laugh which was warm-hearted, sincere and full of joy. I'm only sorry I didn't get to meet him at our reunions... Rest in Peace Martin!!

He was great company, always smiling with that cheeky grin. Very well liked and thought of in College of Commerce, Rathmines where he excelled.

Mary Fergal and all of Martins family. Martin was such a character and was always great company. We met him a few weeks ago down at the White House and he was in great form and although he said he was very short of breath he talked for 30 minutes without drawing breath!
