Cliff and family, My sincere condolences. I was deeply saddened to hear of Martin's death. He was one of my dearest colleagues in the Leader and his valuable advice and assistance saved my bacon on many an occasion. But what I cherish now more than anything is the memory of his genuine friendship and that of his beloved wife Norma. May they rest in peace.

My Dad, Joe Kelly and he were great friends and Martin was often in our house. He was always so kind and friendly. I had great time for him and he was great to my Mam when Dad died.

Will always have very fond memories of Martin. He was very kind to me when I first started in the Leader and showed me the tricks of the trade. We spent many hours poring over proofs of the editorial page every week and correcting spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Martin was great fun and company outside of work too.
