Martin was a loyal and dedicated foot soldier for our party, always willing to give of his time and energy, and someone we could always rely on during elections for canvassing and campaigning. His commitment, good humour and quiet hard work made a real difference in Cork North West and he will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

A shock to hear about Martin, a person very much associated with my youth in Millstreet. I will always remember the mob of school kids, myself included, buying sweets or playing video games in Mrs Dan’s shop at lunchtime, with Martin behind the counter trying to maintain order! A difficult job done with a smile! He always had time for a chat when I bumped into him on my more regular trips home recently. Gone too soon.
