As a young boy around 1961 or 1962 in The City and County Infirmary Hospital I have very lovely memories of Martin Og being very kind to me after I had serious eyes surgery.

Sincere sympathies to the Morrissey Family on Martin Óg's passing. During my tender years I saw him hurl with Portláirge during their Golden Era, his display in the Oireachtas Final of 1962 against Tipp was in my opinion his greatest display. On the club scene Cnoc Síon were the kingpins. I remember the great games against Erin's Own and Abbeyside. Táimíd go léir faoi scamall an bhróin le imeacht Martin ar shlí na fírinne.
