I was very lucky to have grown up Living 5 houses across the road from my uncle.

We were close in relation & everyday life - My dad married George Luchford married Elizabeth aka Betty (Quinn), Martin's sister.
Martin Quinn married my dad's sister Colleen (was Luchford) So as cousins go, you couldn't get any closer blood relations and then living 5 doors away, growing up it was like having 4 extra sisters and a brother.

So Martin was more than just an uncle to me and I have so many AMAZING memories from back then.

Eg Going to the woods exploring the countryside 🥰, the abandoned cave tunnels exploration, pitch black miles and miles long....he thought it'd be great to hide, jump out with the torch lighting up his face & then laughing whilst we nearly fainted😂

Our family mechanic, the ability to understand how an engine worked, he'd strip it down to parts then rebuild it bit by bit. Not from a book, from brain power! He taught me about lots about cars. How to listen to a car, feel it when you drive it to know if it's not right.
All the while bellowing out songs at the top of his voice like a lunatic opera singer 🤣

Dementia is a slow cruel disease and he was well taken care of by his wife & children. I wouldnt go see him in the care home, I wanted my memories of him to be before dementia.

Finally at peace Martin, thank you for giving me a second home, many life lessons & crazy childhood!

I will sign off with the nickname you gave me
