Dear Valerie and family. I was saddened to hear of Martins death and offer my sincere condolences.

What a pleasure it was to live across the road to Martin, always made himself available for a conversation at the pillar and a cup of tea.
From the man I tormented with my football as a child to the friend who gave me and my family so much help and advice over the years, I will always have great memories and thank you for everything.

I am feeling it may be unusual to include our condolences from his ‘extended family ‘ in Malahide… but it would be appropriate that I publicly (as well as privately ) pay our deepest respects also. Martin’s passing will be mourned by the many friends who were lucky to know him but none more so than his beloved Valerie,John, David and grandchildren and sister Kathryn. Martin had that special gift of being loved by children- and that is the ultimate compliment one man can pay to another. His cheery disposition gravitated many to form an audience around him and rejuvenate themselves with fun and laughter from ordinary stories made extraordinary by his own unique personality. Martin is a very special person in all our lives the centre of which was his generosity of spirit. He hasn’t left us - he’s just gone to have a deserved rest and await our certain reunion to take up where he left off . Our prayer is that he will have heard those words from The Lord “Well done thou good and faithful servant “! Our deepest condolences to all his family especially his beloved Valerie John David Kathryn and all the Partners and grandchildren.

I was saddened to hear of Martin’s passing, and wish to express my sincere condolences to Valerie, John, David and all the family on your loss. Growing up in Foxfield has many good memories, and Martin is very much a part of that. Martin always had a cheeky smile & happy outlook to life. It brings a smile to my face when I think of the times spent in Martins Fiat Ritmo, no doubt bringing us on an adventure. You are all in my thoughts at this difficult time. Rest in peace Martin.
