So saddened to hear the news of Martins passing. We recently enjoyed his company at Chef Ireland last November. He along with his great friend were always willing to support the competitions and encourage chefs to compete. From reading the lovely tributes to Martin it’s clear he was highly respected and liked on all paths of his life. Through Living Well, Healthy Food made easy & the Irish Heart foundation he helped so many people and that’s a wonderful legacy to have. To Martins family, I am so sorry for your loss
I worked with Martin at the Shakespeares Head in London in 1981/82
He took me under his wing as we hit it off straight away
We would go and watch Tottenham play on Wednesday when we could
On Sundays we would play soccer together, then we would go to pub, then back to his & Jaques flat for a beautiful meal.
In 1982 I moved them to Ireland, then down to Cork
We lost contact after that, although I did try a few times
I finally got hold of him early last year on Facebook, I was rapped to see him again
He was an amazing person,
A person I have never forgotten,
I am glad I got in contact with him before he passed,
