Mary Ahern (née Ryan) was a generous, joyful woman throughout her life. Like her late husband Peter, she was known and loved for her kindness and charitable acts in the community. Mary was my aunt and I knew her great spirit since I was a child visiting that wonderful house in Portroe. When my late mother Mary Doyle moved back to Nenagh a few years ago, she talked with “Mary in Port” by phone almost every day of the week. It was a deep connection, much appreciated by my mother and me. Heartfelt condolences to Marie, Noreen and all the extended Ahern family at this difficult time.
