I'll always treasure the warm welcome I got from Mrs. Bourke when Jean first introduced me, a classmate, in our first few weeks at the NIHE Limerick. Any time I saw Mary over the next four years, I experienced such kindness and concern: it felt as if it were coming from my own mother.

I met Mary very often in the Park Nursing Home and she was always welcoming and warm and lovely to talk to. I always enjoyed her company. She was a great friend to my own mother, Alice, and it was heartening to see them get on so well together. Sincere condolences to Tony and all her family.

Very sad to hear the news of Mary’s passing. She was a lovely aunt whom I never got to see enough of. Whenever I visited Ireland, she generously opened her house to my father (her little brother) and me. I was very happy Mary got to meet my wife and daughter during my last visit in 2019. The three of us have wonderful memories of a wonderful person. Rest in peace, Aunt Mary.
