Mary Butler

So sad to hear of Mary's sudden passing and my sympathies go out to all the Butler family. She was a beautiful soul who left this world before her time. I got to know Mary through her dear friend my sister Helena (McGee) who I know misses her very much.

Mary Butler managed to combine wit, intelligence, style, fun and sincere professionalism all throughout her nursing career. Those of us who worked with her in Temple Street hospital will always remember her with the utmost fondness and we have a wealth of great stories to tell. I am very happy to have been able to share in her life celebration yesterday along with some of my finest former colleagues. Rest well Mary you were very loved.

Sincere condolences to the Butler family. I had the pleasure of working with Mary for 30 years in the operating theatre in Temple Street Children ‘s Hospital. She was kind and considerate but took no nonsense especially from surgeons who felt their cases were the most important and should get priority. She worked so hard for the sick babies of our country and was so supportive to all her staff. She really was an unsung hero. I can only say it was a pleasure to work with her. May she rest in peace.
