Always a regular visitor to Hazelbrook and (in later years) even managing to convince Wally to join her for the weekly card sessions.
Carmel was a wonderful lady with a sharp wit, a philosophical outlook on life and a deep Christian faith.

Carmel was always incredibly kind to me and my siblings and we have very fond memories of never leaving a Redmond party without her discreetly slipping a fiver in our hands to buy some sweets. We wish to express to Carmel's family our very sincere sympathy on the death of Carmel. She was a beautiful, humorous and well-liked parishioner in Foxrock. She was a loyal member of the Wednesday Club and it was my privilege and pleasure to drive her home from all the club events for many years. We have arranged for Mass to be offered shortly for the happy repose of her noble soul. May she rest in the Peace of Christ..
