So sad to hear about the passing of Mary, she was such a kind and warm lady to me growing up as my neighbour and also as the sacristan at St Vincent’s church when I was an alter server, she always kept an eye out for me and I was always happy to see her.

Growing up in Sunday’s Well, she was such a warm and familiar presence on Shanakeil Road. I have so many fond memories of her bright smile and the way she always stopped for a chat. She had a genuine kindness about her that made you feel welcome every time you met her.

She was especially good to my brother Aaron and me. Somehow, she always had a secret stash of the best chocolates and bags of Tayto tucked away, and she never hesitated to sneak us a treat. Those small gestures meant the world to us and are memories we’ll always treasure.

Thinking of you all at this sad time. May she rest in peace.
