May I send my deepest sympathy to Marie, Rachel, and Charlie at this sad time. Mary was a true friend, so kind and so thoughtful of others, a marvellous and generous host, a talented gardener. She loved horses and her dogs, especially her last, Tina, and they in return were devoted to her. She was fun too, and we enjoyed watching the tennis together and many lovely trips around Kildare and down in Cork. She lived a good life and was a memorable lady. I valued her friendship and will miss her enormously. May she rest in peace.

Mary was a very sincere and gentle lady who loved her garden at Carnalway Lodge. We learned a lot from her and she was always very supportive of us as that garden evolved over the years . She and her family are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time .

It was with great sadness and a deep sense of loss that we learned of Mary’s death and wish to extend our deepest sympathy to her immediate family, extended family and her carers, together with her many friends. I became friends with Mary through the County Kildare Archaeological Society and our friendship was cemented while James Durney and I were working with Mary on the compilation of the War Memoirs of her late husband Lieutenant Colonel Charles Clements MC. It was an honour to have known her and I will miss her very much as a true friend. I regret very much being unable to attend her farewell Mass and her final journey to her place of rest. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí.

We are very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. Mary was a weekly customer for nearly 50 years selecting a new plant every week for her garden at Carnalway and later in Naas. Always a lady.
