I was one of Mary's classmates in Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahon in the late fifties.She came from a small rural Primary School near Taghshinny,
Longford,while I attended Primary School in Ballymahon town,even though I was from the country.
We,townies ,thought that the rural folk,knew nothing but to our great surprise,they excelled.
After that shock, we all became great friends and I was the luckiest of all as I became a staunch friend of the kindest,most affable & sincerest girl of all,Mary Keegan.She was my hero & hair stylist.I will miss her very much but I know that she's in a happier place with her loved ones,devoid of pain & suffering, mystified by the Beatific Vision.
