I am sorry I couldn’t make it to the funeral. I will forever be grateful to Mary for her generosity, love and kindness she bestowed on me and my family as we were growing up. She loved my parents and they her. She helped me get my apprenticeship and got me started. Reading the other condolences it’s clear Mary helped a lot of people. It seems to me that this was Mary’s purpose in life and this is what she enjoyed most. What a gift to have. All of us she came in contact with are the richer for it.

Mary was a wonderful lady, who loved her family dearly, but also dedicated her time to the needy in her home town Ballinasloe. Behind the seen Mary worked tirelessly for those in need with empathy and genuine compassion, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Sincere condolence to Mike, Jack. Greatly shocked and deeply saddened to hear today of Mary’s passing and so sorry to have missed her funeral. Sincere sympathies to the entire Coughlan family on your great loss. Mary was devoted to her family and not only made a massive contribution to her family but also to St. Grellans GAA and various other clubs and indeed anything she touched. She spent most of her life giving and with good humour. A beautiful person inside and out who impressed everyone who had the good fortune to meet her. She will always be associated in our minds with those wonderful years in Ballinasloe and the many celebrations. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

The untimely passing of Mary leaves a huge void in the lives of all those she impacted in her far too short life, particularly her heartbroken family, close friends, work colleagues, and the Community Organisations she served so selflessly over the years.
Those of us who were privileged to have worked closely with Mary on many projects at Square D Company, could only marvel at her total commitment to family, work and the many organisations she served, even through her illness, which she battled with such courage and dignity.
Mary was a talented, kind and compassionate Lady, with a steely determination that delivered results.
