May Mary's selfless soul rest in peace. I am so sorry to have missed Mary's passing having only learned of it in the past few days. To Julie and all her family and friends I send my sincere condolences. Mary was a powerhouse, an all rounder, a fierce leader for those that needed the most help in life. She demanded the best and got the best from those she led because they knew she simply was the best. Although she raised incredible amounts of money annually for various charities it was her beaming and unique personality that left such a rich and rare feeling of gratefulness to all those that were under her guidance. From prince to pauper she treated all fairly and respectfully. There will never be another Mary A. She was a special talent that left no sod unturned to help those that neeeded her diverse array of skills the most. Heaven watch out because Mary will sprinkle her greatness all around and provide rays if sunshine for all of us left behind. Go Raibh Suaimhneas Síoraí a Mhaire.

To Julie & siblings, so sorry to hear of Mary's passing, rip. I worked in the GMIT with Mary & she was always good- humored, fun, lively & had a genuine concern and love for others. Her trojan work for Daffodil day was legendary. May she now enjoy her heavenly reward.

It was an honor to have Mary as my lecturer in GMIT.... she was so wonderful to all her students and so dedicated. She left a mark on everyone she met. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to Julie and all the family on Mary’s sad passing. Galway’s loss is Heavens gain… what a tremendous, generous & wonderful lady she was. A legend in her own time. She was my lecturer in GMIT & made such an impact on me, that she and Julie were invited to my wedding years later. I have the happiest memories of shorthand classes where she would deliver dictation in her marvellous clipped tones! She had all her students mobilised as a whole army of volunteers for her worthy fundraising activities especially from Galway Hospice & we loved it. Who remembers her “If you’re not in you can’t win” slogan! She helped us all after graduation to get jobs & took a genuine interest in us. She will always be so very fondly remembered. X

Rest in peace, Ms Cunningham, sincere sympathy to all the Cunningham family on Mary's passing. My sister and I were both her students at RTC 1980 - 1984. A remarkable educator to all her students and was a force to be reckoned with! She was always encouraging and kind and had her students best interests at heart.

I am very saddened to hear that Mary has passed. I met and chatted with her every week when i attended Brampton Care Home. I will miss seeing her there . May her soul share eternal rest in her forever home . RIP

I was so blessed to have Mary as my lecturer in the RTC/GMIT for two years in the nineties. She was an inspirational woman. She had such respect for all her students and wanted the best for us. She helped so many of her students on graduation with their careers. She was always on the lookout to belp in any way she could. Not forgetting her great determination in all she did for various charities I think Croi and Hospice. She was a lady way ahead of ger time and will be greatly missed. Thank you Miss Cunningham for your wonderful life. You will be greatly missed.

Mary was a wonderful fundraiser for her charities over the years and she helped raise thousands for these worthy causes.
