The Dempsey family (Mary in particular) were so very good to me growning up in Saval Park. The Dempsey Door was always open and I never missed or was left out of their Sunday Dinner.
Playing in the Mucky Lane and accessing it though the Dempsey back garden was never an issue for Mary. Not once did she bemon having half the neighbourhood children run through her lovely well maintained garden, however, we did keep to the path as instructed.
Mary and Maureen Mac Allister (my mother) were very close (hen) friends who met in the Blackrock baths as teenagers and maintainted their relationship, thoughout their long lives.
As Children growing up in Saval Park Gardens we never realised what a perfect childhood was bestowed upon us becuse of the warm welcome everybody received in that small close knit community: in and out of each others houses borrowing a cup of sugar, jug of milk, few slices of bread even the odd onion!
Mary is part of a special cohort of people who made living in Saval Park so safe and unique. She will be deeply missed and the warm enduring legacy she leaves with me, is indelable.

With sincere sympathy to all of the Dempsey family. Your parents were wonderful people and I have many happy memories of visiting your childhood home in Dublin and your summer home in Donabate.
I am very happy that Jackie and I were able to visit them on our last trip home

May Mary and Pat rest in peace and we hope you can overtime, enjoy so many happy memories of their lives.
The only time I attended a horse race was with them on my 11th birthday, and I will always keep that memory.

Mary was a beautiful, warm and welcoming person who lived her long life to the full in the best of ways, in particular with family and friends. Energetic and always a wonderful hostess, I'm grateful to her for her hospitality and charm on many occasions in both of her Dalkey homes, which she made so beautiful. She was loved by many people and will be greatly missed by all. May you rest in peace Mary.
