Deepest sympathies to Michael, Melissa, Carmel and family. Ms McDonagh was a lady; a kind and caring teacher with a real gift for teaching difficult material to students of all abilities. She put so much into her work and taught us much more than maths.

We will miss our many meet ups and visits with Mary and her beloved Michael over the years in Achill and Westport. We shared many happy hours in their company and will always treasure the memories of those times together. We valued a friendship that was constant, deep and true.
After a life so well lived Mary has now gone to her well deserved eternal reward, reunited again with Michael. May Heaven be her bed. ❤️ ❤️

Ms. McDonagh was my Maths teacher all throughout secondary school in Castlebar. She was a fantastic teacher who was always so kind and caring. Ms McDonagh as we knew her in St.Josephs,was most definitely a teacher that made an impact on me throughout my post primary years. Maths was most definitely not my strong point but you always felt safe&valued in her class.

I remember her once saying in passing that she'd have loved to have been an engineer. Many years later I met her, out shopping , and she spoke fondly and proudly of her son.
