I'm very sorry to hear of Mary's death. I have fond memories of her visits to Glin in 2000 and 2002 accompanied by Father Bill McCarthy of Melbourne, who was related to my mother through the Fitzgeralds. In 2000, Father Bill presented me with a signed copy of his fascinating book on Bishop James Patrick O'Collins who I had actually met in Glin as well in 1963 when he visited my mother from Rome where he was attending the 2nd Vatican Council. In 2002, Father Bill gave me a copy of his excellent 2nd book, The O'Collins Family A Melbourne Story. I cherish both books very much. Mary was so proud to be related to such an eminent family in Australia. I used to meet her regularly when she worked in Bank Place and we'd have good chats. I extend our sincere condolences to her relatives. May Mary rest in peace.
