Very sad to hear of your loss Martin.

I spent four years sharing a classroom in Mt Sackville with Mary. She was so gifted in Art, History and English and generously shared these talents with all she met throughout her lifetime.

To Mick, Jason and Alyson. Please accept my sincere sympathy on her death and I do hope that the memories you shared will sustain you in the times ahead

Heartfelt condolences to the Hughes and Henry families. Mary was a beautiful soul and I was honored to call her cousin.

Michael, Alison, Jason, John, Martin & Austin, I was very sad to hear of Mary's death today.
Mary was a unique person. I have met many amazing people in my 74 years but Mary is right at the top of the list. Most people die in bed but Mary dies in Goa, India, which suggests Mary hasn’t changed since I worked with her in the bank in 1980. Walking up Grafton St at lunch hour with Mary, people would stop and turn just to look at her. Mary was gorgeous with her long blond hair swinging around her with a great smile and a laugh.

I met Mary once since she left the bank and we had great crack. In my arrogance I always thought we would meet up some day again and catch up on old times. I am sad that that will never happen now.
Mary left the bank because she was so busy with her arts and crafts, she didn’t have time to come into the bank, she was a great worker and we missed her greatly for many reasons.
I never go North on the M50 without looking over at the Castleknock Tennis club to see if I can see the house.
If I see someone scalding a cup before they make their tea, I think of Mary. Her grandmother used to bang her walking stick to order a cup of tea brought up to her, she would ask, “did you heat the cup first”. It used to drive Mary mad.

Mary had lovely parents, very much embedded in family life, I remember her father driving the children from Castleknock to Blackrock to school.
I cannot imagine Mary being any different so she will be a great loss to you all.

Fran, former staff at Blanchardstown Library, where Mary was a regular.

I was fortunate to meet Mary on my first day at Maynooth College as a US exchange student, and we quickly became roommates and lifelong friends. Our paths soon crossed again when she pursued her dream of studying gemology in NYC. Mary was a woman of many talents, and I will always cherish the painting of Torc Waterfall that she created for us as a wedding gift. It features prominently in our living room. I’m also grateful for the quality time we spent together in Dublin in 2023 when she was in good form and returning to her drawings.

Mary had a sweet, lovely spirit, and her presence will be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to Mike, Alyson, Jason, and the entire family.

I miss you already so much. I am here In Ireland for you but I should be here having a drink with you. Its not fair you had just gotten so slim and looking great! Shocking to think we were dancing together in November. I will always cherish our friendship.
