I am so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. My sincere sympathy to Tom and all Horgan family.
I have lovely memories of Mary growing up in Murreigh.
She would breeze, or maybe hurricane is more appropriate, into the youth club and organise all sorts of games and activities to keep us youngsters on the straight and narrow.
Many’s the night we spent in her sitting room, rehearsing plays or preparing for quizzes, so that we didn’t make liudramans of ourselves when the big night arrived.
She was so giving of her time and made such a difference to the youth of Waterville, which I’m sure continued long after I left.
Now up in heaven, she will have that Choir of Angels in tip top shape in no time!

I have fond memories of staying in Waterville between the Everett’s and Horgans, I was well looked after and I’m sending condolences to all the family including Sean, Clare, Colum,Flann and Kerry.
I was abroad and missed the funeral but I’m sending Mary all my love for sure she’s in heaven and the kindness shown to me by her will never be forgotten.

Waterville, Skellig and that corner of west Kerry have lost a great ambassador in Mary Horgan. She had local knowledge which she shared heartily with those of us who spent holidays in that wonderland. The campsite which she ran is now gone but lovely recollections remain – her guide compiled personally, with daily suggestions of trips and outings in the area; the fire lit religiously each evening where campers and hikers congregated; her welcoming personality which enticed some of us go back year after year.
