Sincere sympathy to the Hourigan family on the sad passing of Mary. I remember Mary cycling her bike to and from work. During novena time Mary and I would be up to our elbows in flowers, arranging the displays for the altar enjoying a banter and a laugh. Mary also ran the Legion of Mary of which I was a member. She always said ‘what you see here, what you hear here, when you leave here, it must stay here’. I have very fond memories of Mary, a lovely person a gentle lady, who gave her time and talent to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I have her in my prayers. I'm also praying for her brother, Father Gus, an old schoolmate of mine, and fellow scholarship winner in 1952.

Mary helped countless children receiving the sacraments in Our Lady of Lourdes School. She modelled kindness, generosity and a great sense of fun. Mary and I shared a love of dogs and she brought me up to date on Setanta’s escapades, and I told her all about my dogs.
Truly, the kindness she showed to animals is a mark of the quality of Mary. Not so long ago, we giggled like schoolgirls, when together, we embarked on a secret mission to bring water to a thirsty horse. I can vouch that Mary was an excellent look-out!

Sorry to hear of Mary's passing. A lovely lady. Fr.Gus was great friends with my late parents they were John and Noreen Browne. he always visited my grandparents Tom and Molly Glynn's house in Meagher Ave. R.I.P.Mary.
