It was with deep sadness that I heard of the death of Mary. I remember her growing up as I lived next door to her, before I left Limerick and she went to Brussels and Dublin. A few years ago, I was working in the city Library when I came across a newspaper cutting from the Limerick Leader, dating back to 1980, which showed a photograph of Mary, with the caption "A poet of the future". I think it was after she published a book of poetry.
I would like to convey my sincere sympathy to the Carey family on the loss of their sister.
