When I lived in Killavoggy

Family left Killavoggy in 1959. A strong memory of Mae was when picking up a loaf of bread for family I could always recall the warmth and caring she shared. Come sit by the fire a cup of tea and a gingersnap. That was golden back then. By the time I got back home the loaf got much lighter. My father and Tommie her husband bartered services on the farms. Time has now taken all the neighbors as Mae was the last remaining memory.
A survivor through many difficult times. Rest in peace

To Josephine and her family from one of your “Texas relatives”… I’m so sorry for your loss and for the loss to your family. My Mom and I had the good fortune to meet your mother and sisters when we visited Ireland years ago, and she was so gracious and kind. I hope it brings you some peace knowing how many lives she touched. Sending love to you all.

We were so very saddened to hear of Mae's sad passing.
What a wonderful woman. She was always a pleasure to meet and chat with. An extremely warm and welcoming woman and a fountain of knowledge and an extremely hard working woman and a great neighbour.
She was "old stock".
