Reading the death notice of your dear mother Mary in the newspaper, brought back many happy memories of childhood family holidays spent in your home in Salthill in the late1960s.We never forgot those particular times we shared with your family in Ard-na-Mara and your mother was always so warm, welcoming and friendly towards us. We have a soft spot for Salthill ever since and often retrace our steps of all those years ago.

I have fond memories of visiting her when she came to Feamore for a Summer holiday. We were always invited up to admire and play with you. Both our families were very supportive of each other and I'm happy to say that bond of friendship remains.
She lived a long and happy life and I know you have golden memories to cherish.
I watched the celebration of her life today and it was such a dignified and well deserved tribute to such a faithful woman.

Sabina loved receiving frequent letters from May. We were blessed to have Luke, May, and Sabina together at our wedding in 2006. It was lovely to see the photo of all 3 on May's coffin today. Going over to see Grandma Mahon -- “Mrs. Mahon” -- as a child in Árd-na-Mara was something I always looked forward to. She always had tea and chocolate biscuits for me, and she was always happy to see me. Long after I left for university and work in the U.S., she continued to send me cards at the holidays, and always asked after me. I am happy that I was able to see her on my trips back to Galway. I feel blessed that she was able to meet my wife, Nicole. She was the kindest and sweetest person I know, and I am very proud to have been her grandson. We will miss her, and we will all continue to think of her.

It was with sadness I read today of the passing of your mam. A truly lovely lady and our neighbour in Ardnamara. Thinking of you all . May your mam's gentle soul rest in peace.
