So sorry for yer loss, RIP Maureen.
Always a breath of fresh air at The Cross and a serial Glamorous Granny at The Field Day; then her grandchildren becoming grandparents themselves - am I right? We obviously sold something nourishing in the shop; she’d enjoy that one - sure ‘tis a Glamorous Great Great Gran we had!
Maureen personified beauty being more than skin deep with an infectious understanding of a changing world, reflective of longevity. The article she contributed in the spirit of The Parish Mag of old is memorable to this day – forensically perfect and unquestionably authoritative, representing remarkable clarity of mind in both context and detail, to a word. Reading it has you looking through a lens of a people of a time and a place - the acid test.
She'd put regular scribers in their rightful place and pity it was that she didn’t go to the well more often, though my guess is that she said what she had to say, and if she wanted to say more she wouldn’t have to be pushed.
