Sincere condolences to Mary's family and Wally. Mary was my bridge partner in the 1990's in the Star and Crescent Bridge Club. We enjoyed the game..it was a nice easy partnership. She added enjoyment to the bridge parties with the playing of her 'squeezy box'..she was learning to play!! Lovely lovely memories of Mary. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

She was always there to help me even in the darkest of times. She was so generous and was always ready to shoot with her wicked sense of humour. I always enjoyed our long chats together and of course a glass or should I say several glasses of vino with her. In her own special way, she contributed so much to 'Community Arts' in Drogheda. She loved her music and I remember when she first took up the accordion. Farewell old friend and good housemate. You will always be remembered.

Our paths crossed on numerous occasions after we'd both left the nest of the Arts centre. On community arts projects and for personal friendship reasons. I seeked her opinion and guidance on more that one occasion.

Then, our lives took separate paths and we didn't see each other for many years. A good while ago I met her on West Street one day and we agreed to set time aside and meet up for coffee....

How sorry I am now that we didn't follow through with our plans.

But, and there is a but, I got great comfort when I read the request to wear something colourful at her funeral. I don't know if it was her direct request or you guys just asked for it but, it sort of doesn't matter. It was her mark... I can't explain it but I found it a very positive expression of who she was.
If you, her family and loved ones, see me working anywhere in the future you can say quite positively that, that guy was inspired by Mary McClorey.

Cause I was... and always will be.

I was so sad when I heard about her passing.
I met Mary in 1993, I think. I'd just started a new career in the Arts via the Droichead Arts Centre. Mary was there on day one. We chatted and had the craic, gave out about folk and laughed. I always felt she was on a new adventure herself, but she had a bit more life experience under her belt. With that, she would advise me and guide me on, well, probably more things that she knew.
I watched her and was motivated by her.
She thought me to value myself and my work. And that's a remarkable thing to do for someone. I will be forever grateful to have shared those few years together.

Mary was a wonderfully kind woman who did her best for the people she came across in life, including in areas such as local development. I first saw her great community arts work in the town and the positive impact it made. She was also adorable and wickedly funny at times. Rest easy and play great tunes in heaven.

Mary my dearest sister. You will be missed for your energy, humour and freely given - sound advice. I know like me you had your childhood and young adulthood interrupted by a family tragedy.
Overcoming these difficulties Mary went to raise a formidable family of five competent and capable adults that rose to the occasion and ensured she passed in difficult but comfortable settings.
