Truly the end of an era with the loss of Mary. My heartfelt condolences to her nearest and dearest, whether here or far away, her blood relations and in-laws along with her other ‘family’ of neighbours and friends. My earliest memory of Mary is when she and Frank rustled up a gang of ‘nieces and nephews’ for a surprise 8th birthday party for me in Canada, where the candles were trick ones that relit as soon as blown out. Back in Canada years later, they looked after me keeping me clear of the Mounties! And later again in Ireland the parties and Hallowe’en masks. Always fun, always decent and will always live on in lovely memories of a wonderful couple. Mary and Frank now reunited for eternity… for Frank to tease Mary, and Mary to revel in it! Very sorry to hear of the passing of Mary. She was a lady of great kindness, humour and style. Mary and Frank were a wonderful couple and I well remember the fun and laughter they and my parents May (Mary’s first cousin) and Jim O’Keeffe had when they got together. Happy memories indeed. RIP Mary x
So sorry to hear of Mary's passing, she was a lovely gentle funny lady with lots of stories especially about my dad Michael Hoban her cousin. May she rest in peace with Frank.
I don't remember a time before Aunt Mary & Uncle Frank were a part of my life. They were there at my birth and every day after that until I turned 18 when they moved back to Ireland. They were more than neighbours, they were the only extended family I had in Montreal so you can imagine the huge impact they had on my life. I have so many memories of them...from Sunday tea, to New Year's Eve, camping at Port Kent, the list goes on. Even though they left Canada a long time ago, I have never stopped missing them and thinking of them. I will miss you Aunt Mary but I know that you are reunited with Uncle Frank and looking down on us!

So very sorry to hear about Mary’s passing but so very grateful to have been lucky enough to meet such a lovely, gentle lady.
Farewell to dear Mary, a great friend and wonderful neighbour. Canada lost out when you and Frank came home but Broadway gained a fabulous couple. Your New Years Eve trifle was amazing. We will miss you.
We met Aunt Mary & Uncle Frank shortly after we moved to Canada in 1956 and they immediately became family. They were a huge part of our daily lives right up until they moved back to Ireland in the 80’s and we all felt a huge void when they left. Aunt Mary was like a second mother to us all & was there for the family milestones, the endless cups of tea, their infamous New Years Eve parties and, of course, the Sunday gatherings. Aunt Mary is now happily reunited with uncle Frank. Rest In Peace, Aunt Mary! Xox

We are saddened to hear of Aunt Mary’s passing. We have such wonderful memories of our time growing up in Montreal with Aunt Mary (and Uncle Frank) ... all those Sunday’s after Mass and holiday dinners, not to mention walking across the lawn and dropping in unannounced to talk! She was a huge presence in our lives and will forever be in our hearts.
Rest In Peace, Aunt Mary

Farewell to Mary, a gracious lady. Gone to reunite with Frank. A wonderful couple lovingly remembered by old friends in Canada.
A wonderful lady, friend and neighbour. I'll miss her dearly.
I am so sad to hear of the death of my wonderful friend Mary. Both she ad her beloved Frank were great neighbours. They were full of fun and laughter and always brought smiles to the faces if everyone they knew and met. They blended in so well when they retired from Canada and were like grandparents to the neighbours children around them. We had many enjoyable social gatherings. They were both a laugh a minute. Sadly we were unable to do that in the last year and a half. We will all miss her very much.
May her gentle soul rest in peace reunited at last with her beloved and cherished Husband of over sixty years Frank.
My deepest sympathy to all her extended family

Just remembering all the special times we shared with Aunt Mary (& Uncle Frank). The special times I think of are Sundays after Mass at their house eating the goodies Uncle Frank bought from the bakery and, the New Year's Eve parties. They held a big place in the Higgins family. Rest in peace, Aunt Mary.
