Deepest sympathy to Sean, Sinead, Rory and Barry. Mary was a colleague in Assumption Junior Girls’ School, and we had many a deep conversation , and laughs about ourselves. She was an inspiration to us all, in her teaching, and in her acceptance of many things in life as it was/ is. Her deep faith enabled her to be like this , and is evident in her book “ Cancer, Prayer and Survival”which depicts the conflict between her deep faith in God, and the predictions of medical science. She was a poet, and an avid researcher of local history, especially Walkinstown. She was also an excellent mother, with whom you could share your concerns, and come away, feeling you were not alone. I could go on and on…Mary, may you rest in peace, and may Sean, children and grandchildren be comforted. Your loss will be felt greatly, but your memory will be a symbol of strength and inspiration forever.It was good to have known you, Mary.

My heart goes out to you all on the loss of mary. May you know the peace and comfort of God in this difficult time and realise that she is safely in the presence of God whom she loved and trusted.

She was a huge part of school life, each of us pretending to need help with reading or maths so we could get in to her class. An excellent educator and an excellent Mother.
