Mary was a wonderful person who I had the pleasure and privilege to know as my best friend for 35 years. Her friendship, kindness, big smile, cheerfulness, adventurous spirit & many happy visits will be sadly missed by all my family.

Mary’s grace and poise as a beautiful dancer reflected what she brought to all the other aspects of her life, especially her friendship, with that wonderful welcoming smile, always happy to help, guide, encourage and support, while not looking for recognition which she deserved. And through dancing, locally, throughout Ireland, Japan, America, and around the world, Mary immeasurably enriched the lives of countess people around passing on a lasting love of dancing.

It’s rare that anyone manages to encompass such an adventurous spirit, making the opportunity to do the kind of things that most of us end up regretting not having done. Mary did this while always maintaining the compassion that so many of us loose when we follow our dreams.

Her bravery and grace shone through, always, in everything she ever did, and most especially in how she managed her illness, looking to comfort and ease it for those she was leaving behind with such warm memories.

The world is a poorer place without her warmth, encouragement and smile.

I am so sad that this lovely girl Mary has gone to her eternal reward. I have known her since was going to secondary school and met her once on a cruise that we were on. To all of Mary’s family my deepest sympathies and thanks for her ladylike support and very nice manner when dealing with her in the Area Office. It was always a pleasure to talk to her and to enjoy her good humour. Mary’s name became synonymous with kindness and it it was a pleasure to meet her and to talk about her line dancing teaching after her retirement. She was a rarity in her good humour and her interest in our lives will always live in our memories and prayers. If Mary is not living in the arms of a loving God, there is no chance for the rest of us. Rest well Mary, you deserve it 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍😍.
