Mary and Evelyn were wonderful to meet every time we visited their 'cave of wonder' in Newtownpark. When we needed a Peter Rabbit or Christmas gift it was our 'go to' place. It was so nice to meet and chat to them. We missed them so much when the shop closed. It is nice to know they are now reunited forever. Sleep well girls, you both made your mark on everyone who had the honour of meeting you.
Very sad to see Mary has passed over. Many a time was spent in her beautiful gift shop back in the day. She had the gift of the gab and a great salesperson too. She got us out of many a sticky situation with obtaining belated gifts even delivering to our home one Christmas Eve. Go gently lovely lady with the golden thick textured locks anyone would wish for. Your merchandise has filled many of our homes as we sought and bought in that beautifully scented space. Your shop was into sweet scents long before it was fashionable to do so. May you and your much loved sister be reunited in spirit and love for all eternity bless you…….💜
Sincere sympathy to the McKenna family on the death of Mary. Mary and Evelyn were the best of neighbours, great company and the first to appear at your door to offer help, company and great hospitality. Mary was always available to offer diy advice as she could turn her hand to practically anything. Her sense of humour, interest in everyone she met and kindness will be very much missed by her neighbours.

We really missed Mary when she closed the doors of her beautiful gift shop on Newtown Park. She sorted us out on many a Christmas Eve! Mary always had the innate ability to match a gift to the recipient. You only had to describe the person to her and she would have the perfect gift. Bumped into Mary a couple of times before Christmas. She was always interested in what was going on with you and always so positive. RIP Mary. Sincere sympathy to all her family and friends

A light goes out in all our lives with Mary’s passing. What a truly beautiful human being she was. She leaves an unequalled legacy of friendship and fun, happy memories, kindness and sheer goodness. The only consolation is the belief that she is reunited with her dear sister Evelyn, brothers Andy Arty and Francis and parents. I hope my dad, Paddy is among them gently mocking her as usual too. Our deepest condolences go to all the McKenna clan who surrounded her with loving support since Evelyn’s death. Ar Dheis De go raibh si.

Thinking of all Mary’s wonderful nieces and nephews and sister in law Patricia and all her wonderful friends at this very sad time … Mary was such a warm caring person and appreciated everything you all did for her …. May her very gentle soul rest in peace. 💕
Mary, Susanne, Geraldine (her three Angels, as she called ye) and the extended McKenna family, sincere condolences to you on the very sads news that Mary has left us all. My mam Anne grew up in Dunlaoghaire with the McKenna's, and a great friendship was always kept with Mary & Evelyn (the 2 girls, as we called them). So many times in the years before Evelyn passed, we enjoyed many an evening with them in Wellington St., on our trips east, where the world was put to right by the four of us, and so many laughs were had. We had visited Mary too since that time, and both spoke to her regularly, with our last call to her being just over a week ago, and even then her fighting spirit still lived on. Mary may you now rest in eternal peace, reunited with Evelyn and all the family. Candle lighting in Clare for you.
My beautiful aunt full of love, kindness and such great fun. I will miss you every day of my life. Thank you for all your love, we created great memories, and you now are holding your sisters Evelyn’s hand.
