So sad to hear about Mary’s passing . She was like my Knocknahattin mum . How she put up with some of the stuff Peter and I got up to in our very younger years I’ll never know. Condolences to all the McKenna family.

I have just found out this very sad news of Marys death. My deepest condolences to you all for this painful loss. We offer our sincere sympathies on the death of Mary. I am so glad that we visited her a year ago and I have been in contact with her since then. Tom and I spent many happy hours with Jim and Mary in Athboy, Trim, Strandhill and even Spain. They have been special friends to us for over 60 years. I will miss our phonecalls, texts and letters and am very sad at her passing!

I was so saddened to hear of Mary’s passing. She was such a kind and gentle soul and I know how deeply she will be missed. I will never forget the love and warmth from Mary from her teaching me to play cards as a teenager to video chats from Australia with my kids.
