Our family were saddened to hear of your mammy's passing. She was a great lady. We met with Mary Paul in November 2023 when my late mammy was in the same ward as her in LUH. Mary Paul was a fountain of knowledge and her favourite subject to talk about was her beloved Carndonagh. She will be a great loss to all her family and her community. RIP Mary Paul

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Mary Paul . I stayed with Mary in the early nineties, as a young naive student nurse I have such great memories of that time . I am deeply saddened to hear of your passing. The memories of the two years I spent in your home will stay with me forever. You welcomed me not just as a colleague, but as
family. Your kindness, generosity, and strength shaped so many of us, and I was so
fortunate to have been part of your life. You were not just an incredible nurse, but a
remarkable person—always caring, always giving, always there.
Your family home, and your heart became my own, and I will always treasure the bond we shared. I feel blessed to have known you, Mary-Paul, and my thoughts are with all your family and wide circle of friends but especially your much loved children, Therésè, Seamus, Michael, Maria, Paul-Anthony and Aíne as they navigate this tremendous loss. I hope you know how loved and appreciated you were by so many of us, and how much you will be missed.

I haven't the pleasure of meeting Mam, but by all accounts,she was a gem.
My son Christopher (Scott)Hughes was studying nursing in letterkenny and a long way from home,but he was blessed to have stayed with Mary his second Mother as she treated him like her own,and that says a lot above a person.

Therese. Was so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I only met her once the weekend I stayed in your home with Eileen Marie Brennan. Your mother was so welcoming and a bundle of energy. Cooked us a gorgeous breakfast the next day. Loved listening to all the chat. A true lady. My sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your lovely mother.

Very fond memories of Mary Paul from the seventies when my sister Rosemarie Meenagh (nee OGorman) lived in Mary Paul’s flat beside her home. Rosemarie remained in contact with Mary Paul over the years but unfortunately she is now in declining health and not able to give her condolences to the McLaughlin family in person.
