Sending our condolences to Herman (Snr) , Nollaig, Aoife, Sorcha and Herman (Jnr) on the very sad news of Mrs Mac (Mary) and Mary (Jnr) passing within just a short length of time of each other. I have so many beautiful and fond memories of all the great times we had in the Millstone hotel. They were kind and generous ladies with immense personalities. When we visited the hotel they were so welcoming and wonderful hosts who will be greatly missed in Ballyshannon circles. Thinking of you all and sending you much love at this sad time . Herman, I’m very sorry to hear of your mother’s death. Although saddened by the news it has brought back a flood of wonderful memories from the ‘70s.

An end of an era with the sad passing of the legend that was Mary Millstone/ Mrs Mac . There are a few generations who will always have fond memories of the Millstone Hotel and in later years ‘Up the Yard’. Mary thank you for the memories and may you now rest peacefully.

So sorry to hear of Marys passing. Arrived in Ballyshannon in the 70's and stayed in milestone for 6 months. Mary looked after me like a second mother. She was such a character. Condolences to all the family. May she rest in peace 🙏
