Tommy your mother , Mary Mc Nicholas was really a wonderful person. One of the kindest and most Christian people I have ever met, like a Saint. Often Jason and I visited your house, we were treated like part of the family. The memories of her kindness still remain with us always in our hearts.

My husband and I met John and Mary in Ara Bella several years ago. We had never met. My grandmother Anna McNicholas McNulty was a sister to John’s grandmother.
I had always wanted to visit the cemetery where my great grandmother was buried. Mary and John invited us into their home. We had a wonderful visit. We all went to the cemetery and John and Mary gave us so much valuable family history. We fell in love with her and I will never forget her.

We share in your sadness as we remember Mary, our wonderful neighbour and friend.
Mary was full of laughter, wit and good humour, and always had a kind word for everybody. Anytime you went visiting, Mary and Johnny welcomed you with open arms and made sure you didn't go home without a drink, or two or maybe even three, and Mary's parting words were always 'come back soon again'.
Mary's memory was incredible and she always had a good story to tell, and her baking and knitting skills were legendary. She loved a good party, and apart from her son Tommy, she was always one of the last one to leave.
We will all miss her dearly, and we will always leave our lights on for her xxx

I'm so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. To Johnny, Tommy, Josephine and extended family my sincere condolences at this sad time for your family. Mary was such a beautiful person. She always gave John and myself a wonderful welcome whenever we visited when we went to Mayo. After John died she wrote me the most beautiful letter which I have kept to this day. Her words of comfort meant so much to me at the time. So sad to hear of her passing. May she rest in peace and may God comfort you all.

Mary was like a second mother to me, looking after me when I got back from school, helping me with homework and giving me advise on life, I would not be the person I am now if it was not for Mary's kindness, compassion and generosity. I will miss Mary, but also feel blessed and grateful to have known her my whole life. Mary's view of the world and life was full of love and care and I will try my best to be the person that would make her proud.

We are sending all our love and prayers to Johnny, Josephine, Tommy, Eric, Hannah, Louis and Isabel.

When we both think of Mary, a larger than life character springs to mind. A woman with an amazingly generous spirit and an unparalleled enthusiasm to get the most out of life. Mary represents so many happy memories of trips over and back between Ara and Bohomore. There was no such thing as a quick visit over to Mary; we always received a great welcome, and the easy chat and fun we had always made it difficult to leave. Truly a lovely woman to be around. These are memories we will truly cherish.

We both would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Johnny, Josephine, Tommy, Eric, Hannah, Louis and Isabel. Mary was blessed to have had such an amazing family around her.

Heartfelt condolences. Mary was a woman who could never take no for an answer. If you visited her home you had to eat or drink and god help you if she poured you a drink! 95% of the glass was alcohol and 5%mixer!
She never forgot names, birthdays or any special occasions.
She was one of the most kind, thoughtful and loving woman I have had the pleasure to know.
She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
