My mother, Mairín, and I visited Shillelagh last August on the occasion of her 90th birthday. There were many fond reminiscences of her childhood and time at University visiting your family in Shillelagh during the holidays.

May Mary and your dad, Dr Francis, rest in peace together.

Just got the sad news, our sympathy to Joe Brigid and extended families on the passing of Mary .RIP Mary

I’m a musician and I brought my double bass to Mary’s house to play a small concert with Liv. Mary was vividly interested in my playing and said I had a good beat. I was surprised that such an old woman (100 years at the time) could have such a fine perception. I immediately offered to give her bass lessons - she agreed and laughed heartily. Since then she always asked Liv how I am with concern that I am doing well, up to the end. Mary was an attentive listener and gave honest opinions to Liv on her music. Over these past 6 years of knowing her , I loved to tell people I had a friend who was more than 100 years old ! Have a good time where you are now, Mary and perhaps we’ll see us again under new circumstances.
