So very sad to hear of Mary's passing. Like many others I was fortunate to work with Mary on night duty in Temple St for several years. A lovely person, always calm under pressure and unflappable, very kind to patients and parents, and very supportive of her nursing staff always. Condolences to her family.
Deepest sympathies to Pat, Emma, Eoin and the Morley & Phelan families. I had the great privilege and honour of working with Mary for many years in Temple Street. I totally agree with all of the statements made in the previous condolences messages. Not many of us can say that we knew and worked alongside a legend. But all of us who worked with Mary can say that. She epitomised the true values of Nursing. She is and always will be remembered by all the patients, auxiliary staff, parents and especially nursing staff in Temple St. Rest in peace Mary, you’ve truly earned it. 💐
Very sorry Pat and Emma to learn that your mother has passed away.
May she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Pat, Emma and extended family. Mary was quite simply one of the best nurse leaders you could ever meet. Kind, caring and compassionate to children parents and staff. You never worried when Mary was on duty even in the toughest of times, as you knew she would steady the ship and very often roll up her sleeves to help out on the wards. She did all of this with a great sense of humour. She is so fondly remembered by all of us in Temple Street.
May she rest in peace.
To Mary's family,
There are simply no words except to say thank you for sharing Mary with us!! As a student nurse and a newly qualified staff nurse in Temple Street, I have never forgotten the rock of support, kindness, knowledge, wit and steady presence that Mary provided, as she guided us through the many, many night shifts! There are nursing colleagues that you never forget throughout your training and onward journey and Mary will always be one of the legends I will always hold with such respect, gratitude and high esteem.
Thinking of you all as a family at this very sad time and remembering Mary very, very specially. Rest easy Mary and thank you sincerely for always being You!!

Sincerest condolences on the death of Mary to her husband Pat, her daughter Emma and extended family and friends.
May she rest in peace.
It was with great sadness that I heard of Mary’s loss. This vibrant lady has left our world and will undoubtedly leave a large unfillable void.
My first memory of this lady was my Father’s fond words. He had the same admiration for her as for Our Lady of Knock. Needless to say, she had traits that I am sure were similar. However, I’m not sure Our Lady would have the same ability to create such a vivid image of smoking a cigarette as Mary.
However, I wholeheartedly agree with his views. Mary was always a tower of strength in every way. This became more than evident to my immediate family when my father died. She was not afraid or hesitant to put her shoulder to the wheel and did not rest until the job was done to her high standards. Yet at the same time, she portrayed that craic, chats, and kindness were equally important.
Yes. Mary was a legend. I wish to express my sincere sympathy to the Phelan and Morley families and everyone who knew her.
Mary Rest in Peace.
Deepest sympathies to all Marys family. Fond memories of night duty, always ready for the chat. Rest in peace.
To Pat, Emma and all the family. My deepest sympathies to you all on your sad loss. May Mary rest in peace.
To Pat and Emma and family, the respect, awe and admiration that all of Mary's Temple Street colleagues and friends felt for her cant be explained easily. I first knew her as a student nurse living in the adjacent nurses' home. There are some stories to tell. Then a young staff nurse in St. Brigid's ward. We discussed the merits of letters and cards and their superiority in the early days of texts and email. We became even friendlier as the years went by and she was at the majority of the St Brigid's girls weddings such was her worth to us. Everything that has been said already is true. She was a steady pair of hands and support on some of the worst nights in children's lives in Temple street over the years. I am quite sure many parents remember favourably her presence and voice and face if not her name.
I will always remember her. Rest in peace Mary xx
