To all the family, I was so very sad to hear of your mum's passing. I apologise for taking so long to write but I cannot bring my self to tell mum. They were one of eachother's oldest and dearest friends. And mum was, of course, Stephen's Godmother and she still misses him terribly. I have my own lovely memories of how gentle, kind and fun your mum was. But any memories I have are lightweight compared to the stories Maeve has! I still have the John Wayne photo they took on their Galway holiday in about 1951 as he filmed The Quiet Man. Pity it wasn't a 'selfie'! But the loveliest connection is that it was at your mum's 21st that George first asked Maeve to dance. She 'fell in love with his feet' and the rest was history. My love to you all. x

I will always remember her wonderful smile and laughter when her eyes would light up a room. She had a sparkle and was just great company. My sincere condolences to all Mary’s children grandchildren & great grandchildren- blessed with a long life which was full of happy days and indeed the saddest of days which she endured with great bravery and courage. Her passing will bring to mind thoughts of her late husband Brendan and her beloved boy Stephen - yes I remember him as a man with his boyish sense of fun - I know they will have a joyous reunion in the place reserved for them from the beginning of time . Sincere condolences to the Murphy Family on Mary's passing. We visited Mary weekly since She first came to Talbot Lodge. She was a kind, friendly Lady. It's a small world. I joined Canada Life just before Brendan, R.I.P. left to set up His Brokerage. I also knew Him as a Rugby Referee. I played rugby with Stephen, R.I.P., in Suttonians R.F.C. We had great chats about their Rugby days. Sadly, Mary wasn't as alert in recent times but She enjoyed saying Her prayers. Rest in peace Mary.
