Very sad at the passing of Mary Nally, the wonderful mother of my very cherished school friend, Monica Nally Hennessy. My mother Rosaleen McElhatton and Mary were good friends, Mum also being an habitue of Mary's boutique in Glasthule. Mary had mastered the complicated game of Bridge and with generosity of spirit, tried to get Mum involved but without success, despite being keen.
We last saw Mary at Christmas 2018 and she was still the elegant, engaged and engaging person I remember from my youth. Monica and Edel have inherited their parents' good looks and style, and above all their kindness and social skills. May Mary rest in peace.
