Our condolences to the extended family. 'Aunty Mary' was known for her adventurous spirit, generosity and dry wit. It's good to live long, and be missed.

Enjoyed our evenings talking about Africa. Some wonderful memories of those days particularly of the times our families socialized together in Harare and in later years here in Ireland. Sincere sympathies to Aoife, Breifne & Daire. May Mary rest in eternal peace.

Mary was a wonderful friend to all the Scotts, especially Eve and Finnualla. Sad that all three of them are now gone. Mary was great fun, full of knowledge and life experiences.

I have fond memories of your mother over the years from visiting her in the castle many years ago (I was always afraid of the dogs) and seeing her at different family occasions. She was always full of life and fun. It’s the end of another Bulman era with her passing. Thinking of ye at this difficult time.

I met Mrs Mary O'Brien sometime in 2016 after Breifne sent me to her, and we had coffee. In that short time, she shared stories with me about her life in Africa, stories filled with warmth, compassion, and profound humanity.

Within an hour, it was impossible not to notice what a caring mother she was, and beyond that, a truly benevolent soul. She was someone who would go out of her way to help others, especially those in need, without hesitation or expectation.

Her kindness was natural, her compassion effortless, and her presence comforting. The world is undoubtedly a poorer place without her, but it is also better for having been touched by her love and generosity.

She will be deeply missed, remembered always for the light she brought into so many lives.

Mary was such a lovely lady , warm, hospitable, always interested and interesting and so welcoming to us in any interfaces we had with her.
She was greatly loved by her grandchildren and we send commiserations to her children Breifne, Aoife and Daire [R.I.P.]
